Scope
Assessment of slope stability along a 5 km section of a national highway embankment in West Java, following reported tension cracks and minor slippage events. Included field investigation, laboratory testing, and 2D limit-equilibrium and finite-element analyses.
Key Outcomes
- Identified critical failure mechanisms using both circular and non-circular slip surface analyses
- Recommended soil nail reinforcement and surface drainage improvement as remediation measures
- Reduced estimated failure probability from 18% to below 2% after proposed remediation
- Delivered detailed design drawings and monitoring plan for contractor use
